I was hired by the producers of Il Volo’s first Miami Beach concert to promote the event to the following I’d gained for my blog, which at that time was called Italian South Florida (name was changed to The Italian Influence).

At that point, I’d amassed over 10K genuine followers on my Facebook page and I had an email list of over 2,000 individuals in South Florida with an interest in Italian culture. This may not sound like much in today’s terms, but back in 2011, blogs and bloggers were nowhere near as omnipresent as they are now

In the weeks leading up to the concert, I wrote and designed promotional social media posts. I wrote an in-depth article about the band for my blog, and I sent out email blasts to promote the event. I also promoted the event through word-of-mouth within the Italian and Italian American communities I was active in. The concert was a big success and even sold out!

While I wasn’t the only blogger/marketer promoting this amazing concert, I made a signigicant contribution, especially in getting the Italian expatriate community to attend.
